CONVEX TUI AND POHUTUKAWA FLOWERS #2

£2,497.00

The Tui is a native New Zealand bird and the Pohutukawa, with its striking red flowers, is an important symbol for all New Zealanders. In Maori mythology, its flowers are said to represent the blood of a young warrior who perished while trying to avenge his father's death. They remind me of and keep me close to home. This is 1 of 3 in this series.

The unexpected beauty caught in the reflection is one of the amazing things about this piece. Shine a light on this and watch your room light up in brilliant and intense colour. I love it and I promise you will too!

I absolutely enjoyed creating this artwork as I was experimenting with different colourways with alcohol inks on a convex mirror film which is an exciting medium to work with. This artwork is 1 of 1 and comes in 100cm diameter by 15cm deep convex film structure.

As well as producing new paintings and art to add to my own collection, I also work on commissions for private clients across the world. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements or any questions you may have.
